Ronald L. "Ron" Bader Obituary

Bader, Ronald "Ron" L. Age 86, of rural New Glarus, passed from an untimely accident on June 25, 2018. He was born on September 24, 1931 in Chapman, Nebraska, the son of Arnold and Freda (Peters) Bader. Ron graduated from Springville, Iowa High School and served in the Iowa National Guard Reserves for 8 years. Ronald and Norma Williams were united in marriage on August 9, 1953 at St. Matthew's Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

His legacy lives on. Nearly 275 employees of Bader Rutter and its three offices are indebted to Ron's vision. In 1974, he opened his own Milwaukee advertising agency to serve agricultural clients in the Midwest. During his leadership, the agency grew to become the largest marketing and advertising agency in Wisconsin and the largest agrimarketing agency in the country. Ron's goal was to create an agency where aspiring professionals would like to work and build a career.

Ron also founded and supervised Carrousel Farms as a manifestation of his love for agriculture. A farm boy himself, he loved all aspects of farming; including the crops and livestock. The awards reflected his life and career. Ron was inducted into the Wisconsin Advertising Hall of Fame in 2013. He took pride in helping and donating to numerous local and National Charities.

Ron believed when you commit to something, you do it right. Ronald was a devoted member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Verona. He was also a member of many organizations such as the National Agrimarketing Association. He supported multiple youth organizations throughout his life, which included State Fair, Holstein Association, 4-H board member for many years; serving as president of the Arabian Horse Association He owned and bred champion Arabian Horses, Black and White Holsteins; Red and White Holsteins, Limousin cattle, Red Angus cattle, and Champion Club Calf Cattle.

He is survived by his wife Norma, of New Glarus; children: Kimberly (Jean) Choi of Tijeras, New Mexico; Stephanie (Robert) Cornfield of Monroe; Randy (Sue Obert) Bader, Brad (Mary) Bader and Troy (Janel) Bader all of Monroe; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Rogene (Benny) Buchheim and Arlene Po and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arnold Jr. in infancy and Robert Bader.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. James Lutheran Church 427 S. Main Street in Verona, with Pastor Kurt Billings officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held Friday, June 29th, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., and 18th Ave., in Monroe and Saturday, June 30, from 10:00 AM until time of service at the Church.
